Abstract

SUMMARY:

The nucleotide sequence of approximately 10 kb at the 5' flanking region (32°) of of the chromosome was determined. Eleven putative ORFs were identified. Three of them ( and ) coincided with known genes ( and ) encoding a competence-specific protein, a DNA-entry nuclease and a transducer-like protein, respectively.
