News : Microbiology introduces Short Communications

19 January 2017

Microbiology has introduced Short Communications to its current article types.

Short Communications are for describing smaller novel pieces of completed work. The concise nature of these article types will allow for rapid peer review and can aid in the increased visibility of present topics to a wider audience.

This format for Short Communications consists of a title; an 150-word abstract; a maximum of 2,500 words; and a maximum of three figures and tables. The main text is not divided into sections and methods should be described briefly within the text.

Short Communications are also available as gold open access via OpenMicrobiology.

Further information on the journal’s article types and subject categories can be found on the Microbiology "About" page. If you would like to submit please click here to go to the online submission system.
