Abstract

SUMMARY: Tests for the distribution of sulphydryl groups, alkaline phosphatase, catalase, peroxidase in six species of showed that these occurred in greatest concentration in the young aerial mycelium, and especially at its points of origin or differentiation from the vegetative mycelium. In some species, these points of differentiation took the form of synnemata (coremia) of a distinctive appearance.
